Me in my new jacket...
I bought this jacket sometime last year at Gottshalks, never knowing when I might need it. Since the wedding I was singing at was dressy/casual, I thought it would be perfect. It's a silk/wool blend, and a very nice blend of colors. I tried on a couple of wool pants that I have, and either would have worked. Only problem is they had moth holes in them!! So I had to go buy a pair of pants. I went to Ross first, and found a pair that were quite nice. They were 32 inch inseams, and just a little too long. No problem, I have a sewing machine. Well, several hours later, I finally got the hems done. It's like I have to reteach myself how the use the thing every time I pull it out. I think I finally understand how to do the blind hem stitch now; but I need to pull out the one I did on these pants. They were OK for a quick fix, but really need to be done again so they look a little more professional. It would be great to have had lessons or learn at the heel of a seasoned seamstress, but we do what we can...
