Wow, it's been a while since I've updated this blog. Had a nice Thanksgiving dinner, made ratatouille, succatosh, and all kinds of goodies. Still have an apple pie to try once I get hungry again (might not be for awhile, now).
Last week on Monday, after the holiday music rehearsal, I went to Streetbar. Ended up entertaining some British tourists. One in particular, seemed to like me a lot. Met him in the bathroom later for a little "get to know you better" session. He gave me his e-mail, guess I should send him a quick note.
Cuqui went to see her sister this week, in Portland, so I have been getting lots of hours at work. Still going to the gym. Today I flexed in front of the mirror before taking my shower, and I have biceps! Wow, I'm actually doing something good at the gym. I tried to make conversation with "Blackberry Guy" the other day, but I don't think it went so well. He just kind of stared at me. There was somebody else who came in the locker room, so maybe that spoiled the mood. I don't know, but next time I just flash him a quick smile and see what he wants to do. I really do like him physically, just absolutely fine. I have no complaints about his physical appearance. Only time well tell where this goes.

Weekend Update
Today was fun, got a text from Danny inviting me to brunch at Rick's. I got there first, a little after 11, and put my name in for a table. Dan & John K showed up a little later. Had my huevos rancheros, which I like immensely. Went to the gym afterwards, and was able to do the forest walk, max speed 6.5 mph and max 15% incline. No pain, so I must be getting back into shape. I increased the weights by 5 lbs, so my muscles are getting stronger. After this week, I need to recaculate my one rep max and see where my progress is. I don't quite look like Charles Atlas yet, but it's been less than 2 months. I worked out on Sunday, today, because last Monday was too crazy. Worked until 1715 or so, then went to the gym, then had a rehearsal at 1900 for the chorus holiday music gigs. I didn't get to eat until 2145, and that was grabbing a couple of burritos at Del Taco. At least now I can go home right after work tomorrow and get something to eat before rehearsal.

Mixed emotions
So happy that Obama won the election, but bummed out that Prop 8 passed. I voted after work yesterday, no lines at all. Went to chorus, then Streetbar afterwards. Brook was supposed to meet me there, he even called earlier to confirm. I got there about 10PM, and hung out for half an hour. No sign of him, so I called his cell phone. It went to voicemail after several rings. I finally thought to myself, we usually meet at Spurline, so I wonder if he was there waiting for me? I crossed the street, and sure enough, he was there waiting. He had a friend, Jay, who I have seen around town before but never met. We all went to Streetbar, but Jay left after about 10 minutes. Brook and I stayed, drank beers, and I sang some karaoke. Got an invite to go back to his place. We had fun, but I kept waking up afraid I would oversleep and be late to work. But I did wake up with enough time to go home and get ready for work from there. It was really nice spending some time with Brook, and I hope to do it again before he leaves for Utah Sunday.

Before the Parade passes by...

I once again marched with my chorus in the Palm Springs Gay Pride parade today, Sunday. It was fun, but seemed even longer than last year. Alan had to cancel at the last minute as Joel hurt his back and I guess they couldn't leave Esteban unattended. It all worked out. I was so hungry and tired when I got to Ramon Rd, that I just turned around and went back to my car which was parked almost at Ruth Hardy park. Had a good lunch, napped, and made a new batch of split pea soup for the week. I added a half cup of barley to it, and that really made it thick. I think it might be one of the best that I have made. I'm catching up with my laundry now, and then I get to look forward to spending some time with Brook, my friend from SLC. He called Friday night to let me know he is in town for a week. He wants to meet me after chorus on Tuesday, which means karaoke at Streetbar. He also wants to go out, probably for dinner and drinks, again later in the week. Friday or Saturday would be good as I can stay out as late as necessary, if the occasion calls for it. I do enjoy spending time with him.

Dan & Bruce's Big Fat Wedding
This is the LEGAL gay wedding that I sang at on Saturday. Bruce, the accompaniest from the chorus, married his partner of several years in a charming backyard service. I was one of seven people singing "Evergreen." Very cool.

Me in my new jacket...
I bought this jacket sometime last year at Gottshalks, never knowing when I might need it. Since the wedding I was singing at was dressy/casual, I thought it would be perfect. It's a silk/wool blend, and a very nice blend of colors. I tried on a couple of wool pants that I have, and either would have worked. Only problem is they had moth holes in them!! So I had to go buy a pair of pants. I went to Ross first, and found a pair that were quite nice. They were 32 inch inseams, and just a little too long. No problem, I have a sewing machine. Well, several hours later, I finally got the hems done. It's like I have to reteach myself how the use the thing every time I pull it out. I think I finally understand how to do the blind hem stitch now; but I need to pull out the one I did on these pants. They were OK for a quick fix, but really need to be done again so they look a little more professional. It would be great to have had lessons or learn at the heel of a seasoned seamstress, but we do what we can...
