Yesterday it came to a head. My day to work late. Had to go to the gym. Then the gas station. Then Walgreens. Should have gone to PetSmart, but there was no time. Let me backtrack:
Got a call from the vet on Thursday, and Callie's bloodwork came back. She has a greatly elevated thyroid level, 3 times what it should be. She also has a UTI. So I picked up some new pills and a liquid antibiotic for her. When I first saw the syringe, I thought "no way can I give her a shot." But it was an oral syringe, no needle involved. But it needs to be refrigerated, so I had to go home immediately. Which means I had to go to Walgreens to get a pill splitter and 81mg aspirin (for Callie) another time.
OK, so now it's Friday. I get home after 8PM, John has already given Callie 2 parts of her dinner. Which means I had to give her 2 pills in the last part. I manager to do it. But when it came time for the liquid antibiotic, she threw a fit and the stuff landed mostly everywhere except in her mouth. I got real upset, and told her if she doesn't want her medicine then she can stay sick. I don't care if she doesn't get better - I'm through with it. She did come around later after we both cooled down. Although she still hates the oral meds, she was OK today with it. A little struggle, but no lashing out at my with her nails like yesterday. She drew blood. It sucks that I have to do it twice a day. But it should be over after one week. I still have to juggle the pills. One is twice a day, the other is just once a day. And the aspirin therapy is once every three days. I have to split an aspirin into quarters. Lots of fun.
I had an all day rehearsal today with the chorus. We accomplished a lot. My solo went well, although it was shaky in the beginning. Once I got into, though, it really rocked.
