Testing Day

Went to DAP today for a barrage of testing. They now do the Rapid test for HIV, which I passed. Which means I was negative. They kind of lost me, and then the phlebotomist rushed through taking my blood. He had to stick me twice, as something happened to the first needle. I have a lovely scar from it. I did real well on the urine sample, could have filled two of those vials. I am concerned about testing positive for Syphilis. Well, it's a dual edge sword. If I test +, it would answer some questions. If not, it would be a relief, but leave me wondering about something. I just dread having to tell 4 people that they need to get tested if I do have the big S.
On lighter news, I am back where I left off at the gym. I am kicking butt on the treadmill. No pain! It is awesome.
Speaking of which, my secret crush was at the gym again Friday. What an amazing body. He certainly fits the stereotype about shorter guys. That they're actually longer. Oh, my....

My Trip to see the Donald!

Had so much fun visiting with the Don. He and Jim were great hosts, and treated very nicely. We had dinner at several nice restaurants, and I got to eat twice at middle eastern places. All very good. The one place out here by Target finally closed (not the best and a little overpriced - such a shame). I had fun touring the Henry Ford Museum with Don, and we even got to go see Chi Chi LaRue at the 33rd anniversary of The Gold Coast. They had dancers there, and I gave a dollar to the best looking one there. Mercy...
We got to go visit some friends of Jim up at a lake near Pontiac, MI, and what a beautiful house they had. We got to go out on the lake, me on a speedboat with Mr & Mrs host, and Don and Jim did the wave runners. We had a great dinner afterwards. All too soon, it was time to pack me up and send me home. But I got to see my Donny Sparkles, and that was worth everything....

The sweet smell (sound?) of success

Sunday was my performance day. Had a technical rehearsal on Saturday, which went fast! Sunday, Los Amigos, performed three numbers in the Ballet/Opera House. The audience went nuts for us. They laughed so hard at "Drama Queen" and gave us the first standing ovations of the performance block. What a rush!
When I performed with the chorus on Monday night (great slot!) it was kind of anticlimatic. The audience was very warm, and receptive, but it wasn't the same electric feel from the day before. But I am very proud of how we performed.
I met the love of my life in the lobby of the performance hall. His name is Chad, and he was the soloist for "Rocket Man" when the Columbus Gay Men's Chorus performed their block. He is so cute and very nice. Such a sweet guy! Well, I can dream, can't I???

Miami or Bust!

Well, if the monsoons had any say in the matter, it would have been the latter. I left for the airport on Thursday night, July 10th, fully planning on arriving in Miami by 12 Noon the following day. Turns out that weather was so bad in Phoenix, that the plane never took off the ground, and we had no plane to take us to Las Vegas. Re-booked my flight so that I could come back the next morning to try it again. Went home, slept in my own bed, then got a ride back to the airport. This time, we got on the plane, but they had to cancel the flight due to some problem with the cargo hold. I was starting to freak because my GALA outfit was in the gate checked bag that was in the cargo hold. Fortunately, I was able to grab my bag on the way back to the ticketing area. I tried to see if they could book me on United out of Ontario, but that flight was full. They did, however, get me on a plane to Vegas that met up in Denver for that same flight. Once I got in Denver, I found a bunch of people from my chorus who were taking that flight. I ended up getting an "improved" seat on the flight, and Alan, Joel, and baby Esteban were seated right behind me. We were in the "Economy Plus" section. Very cool. Got to Miami around 1230 in the morning, and took a taxi back to my hotel, the Marriott Biscayne Bay. Was glad to get to my room, where I unpacked and got ready for bed. I was exhausted!

What was I thinking?

Had a good rehearsal yesterday, we are really shaping up for our performance in Miami Sunday and Monday. Finally got the shirt from Penney's in the mail, so that is taken care of. I don't want to hear nothing about no shirts again! I went to Streetbar last night for drinking and karaoke. I was doing well, trying new songs that I will never do again, and having scotch and sodas. Phil, from the chorus, bought me a drink, and then when I came back from singing, there was another one. I drank that one, I think, and then RC wanted to buy me a shot. I downed that, and then it was time to leave. RC tried to get me into a cab, but I had my car there & didn't want to leave it. He followed me to my car and asked me to take him home. What else could I do? After throwing up a couple of times, I drove us to his house. I don't remember much about the ride there. We went to the back bedroom and it was really about cuddling and keep each other company. He is lonely, and craves companionship. I believe he has a long distance sugar daddy, and as usual, the boy has everything except that one thing he needs. Better to be poor and together than rich and apart. His bedroom is the void of all light. Stayed way too late in the morning, and the rest of the day was shot. Sang at the Power baseball game, the national anthem along with the rest of the chorus. I leave for Miami tomorrow night, so my wild adventure in Florida will start then...

It's about time...

That I gave an update, that is! Not really a lot to report. Last Tuesday, at Streetbar after chorus, I had an opportunity to be in a threeway with a couple. One of the guys was French, and I had fun trying to speak with him. His partner really wanted to get it on, he even made one more pass thru the bar before they left to see if I wanted to take them up on their offer to take a dip in their pool. It was a school night, so that was out.
I've seen RC since the last time when he wanted me to go see him in the ballet. He said it was inevitable that we would date. Yeah, right...
Saw "Wall-E" with Danny and company on Saturday, matinee. Very cute movie, well done. And the capper for it was the closing song, by Peter Gabriel. Just doesn't get any better than that.
Just got back from the gym, had a great workout. Pumped up my speed to 7 mph on the treadmill. Did over 5 miles verticle distance. Was sweaty like all get out, which is great. Lets me know that I'm doing something. Did 15 minutes on the elliptical and then hit the showers. Nice looking guy in the shower across from me. I really like it when I get a bonus like that after my workout. Now if I could just get a date out of it....
Oh, yeah...Nadel beat Federrer!!! McEnroe said it was probably the bet tennis match ever, and I think I would have to agree. I'm so glad that he was able to get that Wimbledon Trophy to go along with his 4 French Opens.
