I've forgotten how strong willed Callie is. She doing an amazing job. She takes her pill with food like it's nothing, and is learning to walk with her leg the way it is. She can walk from one end of the house to the other, with just a little sway. I try not to have her walk too fast, otherwise she loses balance. She actually jumped up on the couch by herself yesterday! My stubborn little girl, gotta love her. She might just be all right after all.
I'm adding weight training to my schedule now. Yesterday I went to the gym and did as much a routine as I could. I can't do all the reps on all the machines yet, so this week will be like a break-in period. I'm not as sore as I thought I would be. Back to the gym tonight after work for the treadmill. The one blond guy with the great body was at the gym yesterday, but didn't get to see him shower. Otherwise, it was a pretty good day....

Sweet little Callie

Well, she has been my longtime companion for 15 years, and given me so much joy. Callie went to the vet today, and we believe she had a stroke. She has difficulty using her right hind leg. The vet pumped her full of fluids and gave me some medicine for her. It tears me up inside to see her try to walk and fall down. She can drag herself around, but what kind of life is that? I know what I need to do if her condition perists or worsens, and I cry whenever I think about it. She's lead a good life, and a long one for a cat. Why is saying goodbye so hard??

Triceps are a bitch
I went to the gym Sunday afternoon to try to figure out what my one max rep would be for various exercises. I didn't have the workout sheet with me, so I had to try to remember as many exercises as I could. I did OK, except when I got to the triceps machine. I thought that my arms are so weak that I couldn't possibly do more than 10 with 20 lbs of weight. It turns out I could do over 120 reps. Which was a big mistake. My arms ended up burning so badly the next day. It was until Thursday that they feel almost back to normal. Not sure when I'm going to try it again; maybe this weekend. I've pumped my max speed on the treadmill up to 7.5 MPH, which is kind of exciting. Love that I can run that fast, even if it's just for a quarter mile or so.
I didn't drink too much at Streetbar after chorus on Tuesday. Had an S & S, then ice water, then another S & S. It tasted bad to me, and could only sip a little bit of it. There was only one guy who appealed to me there, Jeremy who is a bartender at Azul. But I didn't pursue anything because he is a bartender. They are a strange breed..

Heart beating, pulse racing...
My workouts at the gym have been going very well. I get on the treadmill and do the "forest walk" program. There is a quick warm-up walk, and then a run for about 1/4 of a mile at 7 mph. Then the ramp incline goes to 8%, and the speed adjusts to 5.1 mph. After a period, it then goes to a 15% incline at 3.5 mph. Then the reverse incline/speed happens until the end, where I run again to round out the workout. There is a two minute cool down, then I hop on the elliptical to do some climbing. I did 15 minutes yesterday, at the upper limit resistance for weight loss. I didn't think I would make it, but held on and even did the 5 minute cool down afterwards. I was totally spent. Made my way to the locker room where I rested by my locker for a few minutes. There were some young guys talking, and some nice looking guy around my age walked by just wearing a towel. He was heading back to his locker, where he took off the towel and was starting to get dressed. He was quite nice, and well equipped. I immediately got undressed, between looking over at him and smiling, and got my shower stuff together in record time. I walked over to the semi-private shower stall, and washed up. All of a sudden, the same guy comes over to the somewhat private shower stall, all the while looking and smiling at me. It's pretty obvious. So I extend my shower time (I was just about done at that point). We keep looking at each other, and he was quite a sight. Really nice body, cute face with a kind of goofy smile, and large penis. Very thick and nicely shaped. I was paying close attention to my own, making sure that it was thoroughly clean and stretched out properly. He was getting excited, and did the tilt of his head, with a come over here look. I went over to his stall, like two steps away, and told him I can't possibly do anything here. I did tell him he had gorgeous equipment. Went back to my stall, rewashed what I had already rewashed several times now. Art, who used to be in my chorus, showed up to change for his workout, and was in my view although I don't think he saw me. Great, now somebody I know is just around the corner. When I saw that Art was gone, I turned off my water and started to dry off. I stood in the middle, closer to shower guy. We did touch each other's privates briefly, but what can you do in a public place like that? He then started to masturbate, but then somebody got into the first shower stall, the handicap accessible one. That was enough for me, I went back to my locker. Shower guy followed about a minute later, and got dressed. I went with my back to the sink area, fussed with my hair, then went back to the locker room. I went right up to him and thanked him for the show. He was very nice, said he liked what he saw also. He told me that he would be at the gym again tomorrow. The vibe I am getting is that he probably has a partner at home and just likes to fool around at the gym or wherever it is spontaneous. He didn't ask me name or if I want to get together on the outside. It was fun, actually my heart was racing so much I thought I would pass out in the shower stall! But I'm not going to risk getting kicked out of the gym. However, today might be a good day to start my upper body strength training....hmmmm

What can I say?
Well, still no word from DAP. I tested negative for HIV, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and no results back on Syphilis, which I think I may have. I haven't seen RC at Streetbar the past couple of weeks, so I asked Paul the bartender if he's seen him. He told me that he saw him walking on Arenas the night before, harrassing a drunk guy. He is not allowed in the bar anymore. I sang "Some Enchanted Evening" at karaoke, which is a warm up for my Los Amigos audition. It didn't go so well, but that's OK, I've studied it at home and think I will kill'em Tuesday. The gym has been going well, I have pumped up my speed to 7 MPH on the treadmill and accidentally punched in 20 min instead of 10 on the elliptical. I decided to tough it out, and made it through. Good workout, had to catch my breath in the locker room. Good, sweaty workout.
